I think it's great that someone started these groups. I am looking for an exJW gay group in my area....I have found two other gay exdubs in my city....we should meet regularly.
the latest "keep on the watch" publication released at the district assembly really looks like a rehash of old material (and even old pictures ... they must be running out of paint or something!)..
one 'gem' caught my eye flicking through it.
how do you reason with people to convince them that the bible account of a global flood is real?.
Seems to me they are only trying to "reason" with those that believe the bible is real. They are having trouble keeping their flock and so 'reasoning' with a group of people that already believe in Jesus and the bible.
They will have to put more effort into trying to convince people that believe in evolution or are agnostic.
i have seen many brothers in the jw's including elders & ministerial servants using that silly tower symbol .
in their: bible covers, lapels, tie pins/clips, letterheads (personal) & many many more .
are they not idols?
LOL, Mark! True, they are obscene images.
I would love for some witness to be in the ministry talking to somebody about the cross while wearing one of those pins or necklaces. Oh, let it be me.

how many of you were actually brought into the jws by someone at your door?
how many were born in or brought in by family?.
kj
Half and half...my grandmother became a witness when I was about 10yr old. I'd go to the KH with her sometimes. Then after she died my mom asked me if I wanted to keep studying and that she didn't. Well, one day some witnesses came to the door and I accepted a bible study.....I was too young and waaaaay too naive.

for me i would say that half the reason i am depressed is directly cause from being raised a witness, i am 50 now.
Most definitely. I thought about taking a whole bottle (90 ct) of sleeping pills. It was at that point that I decided it was time to move on to something that would make me happy.

for those who have been out for a while, was there anything special about the very last meeting you attended (excluding memorials)?
was there anything incredibly memorable about it?
The last meeting I went to was a TMS. The CO was in town that week and he was giving a talk on being a slave of god. I kept thinking to myself that I didn't want to be a 'slave'. I left at the song...I just got up and walked out. It felt great!!

since before a witness gets baptized, they are told to "be no part of this world".
that is beaten into everyone's head.
now that you're not a jw or are on the way out, how does being part of the "world" feel?
It feels absolutely wonderful!! I have much more freedom to do what I want...I'm actually having fun now!
1. have an apostate food truck outside with free burritos and shasta cola.. 2. wear a smurf costume and run across the stage.. 3. bikini car wash across the street.. 4. have an old-school breakdancing session on the corner, cardboard and all.
bonus if you do it on a mat made of watchtowers and primary colored book covers.. 5. have a garage sale or flea market in the neighborhood during the afternoon session.. 6. sit in the audience and applaud everything that anybody says - try to get a standing ovation for each sentence of the closing prayer.. 7. put a recording of rap, heavy metal, or other forbidden music on instead of the kingdom melodies.. 8. get fifty of your friends to walk around in the stadium during the session, holding signs that say, "louder please!
" and "take your shirt off!
Set up a booth outside the assembly with signs that say, 'Gay and Lesbian Jehovah's Witness Support Group.' I'm not joking, this is actually done by a group called A Common Bond. Check out the pics of them doing their version of 'streetwork.' http://www.gayxjw.org/streetwork.html If you aren't gay, then make signs for a JW Recover Support Group. Include apostate websites!
